Sofiane Boufal
The phenomenal success of Riyad Mahrez last season will prompt Premier League scouts to go through the divisions of French football with a fine tooth comb, and Boufal could be another emerging star.
Following his move from second-division club Angers in 2014, Boufal has established himself firmly as one of Lille’s leading lights. The 22-year-old bagged 11 goals and provided four assists last season, which made him Lille’s stop goal-scorer despite starting largely in a midfield role.
Boufal may be physically slight, but picked up an almighty 11 league bookings last season which hints at an aggressive streak. The Moroccan is also left-footed, always an attractive trait for managers seeking balance in their team.
Boufal has already been linked with Southampton and Watford this summer, and though a move to Everton would be a significant step up, the Toffees might feel they should nip in while he is still on an upward curve.
