'Too good for that level': Some Arsenal fans believe talent is 'different gravy' after U-23 win
Arsenal finally scored their first goal in the Premier League over the weekend, and Folarin Balogun was also off the mark at U-23 level.
The England U-21 international played a starring role for the Gunners as the striker bagged a brace as Arsenal beat a star-studded Manchester United in Premier League 2. Charlie Patino also bagged a goal for Arsenal alongside Balogun.
Indeed, it was overall a great day for the Gunners at all levels. The senior squad registered their first win, clean sheet, goal and points in the Premier League this season, whilst the Arsenal U-23 side secured their third victory of the campaign with the help of Balogun.
It has been an awful start to the season for Arsenal. However, the worst of it finally looks to be behind them with a huge 1-0 win against Norwich City. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s scruffy goal was the difference-maker.
And the U-23 side were also on fire. With Balogun guiding Arsenal to a big win against a United side that included the likes of Dean Henderson and Phil Jones.
As you would expect, supporters on social media were buzzing with the result. With Balogun’s performance in particular drawing praise from fans.
Here’s what some Arsenal fans had to say about Balogun’s performance for the U-23 side on Twitter…
