‘Too good’, ‘awesome’: Alan Shearer hails £140k-a-week Spurs ace and 27-year-old teammate

Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have been praised by Alan Shearer as they made the Premier League legend’s latest Team of the Week.

Kane and Son were at their rampant best at the weekend as Jose Mourinho’s Spurs ran out 6-1 winners over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Although Bruno Fernandes’ penalty gave the hosts a second-minute lead, Tanguy Ndombele cancelled the deficit almost immediately.

Kane and Son then grabbed a brace apiece, and Serge Aurier also got on the scoresheet in an emphatic victory.

“Two goals and was just too good and too intelligent for Manchester United,” Shearer wrote about the 27-year-old England ace on the Premier League website.

Of Son, meanwhile, the former Newcastle star wrote: “His goals and pace was awesome, as was his link-up play with Kane.”

Amazing how quickly things change in football – after the opening-day defeat to Everton, there was a lot of doom and gloom amongst the Spurs fanbase.

However, Tottenham have picked up form, got through a nightmarishly congested run of games, and made it to the Europa League group stage and League Cup quarters.

On top of that, Spurs have bolstered their ranks and, as testament to an improving attack, have scored five or more goals in three competitive games this season already.

Son, in particular, is hitting new heights this season with some simply sensational performances.

The £140,000-a-week ace now has seven goals and three assists from just six games in all competitions, alongside Kane’s eight goals and seven assists from seven games.

And all this before Gareth Bale is back up and running in the lilywhite shirt – how good will a front three of Bale, Kane and Son be?
