Celtic secured an excellent win over Swedish side AIK on Thursday night in the Europa League play-off round and former Hoops striker Tony Watt has heaped praise on Odsonne Edouard following the 2-0 win.
Neil Lennon’s side were demoted to Europa League qualifying after losing to Romanian champions CFR Cluj in the third round of Champions League qualifying earlier this month. It saw Celtic forced to take on Swedish side AIK.
James Forrest gave Celtic the lead as his vicious right-footed shot was parried by AIK goalkeeper Oscar Linner, only for the ball to bobble over the line. Edouard sprinkled some of his magic to make it two, curling a free-kick home from 25 yards.
Edouard, who is still only 21 years of age, has now netted five goals and laid on four assists in nine appearances this season – and former Celtic striker Watt has described Edouard as “technically unbelievable”.
Edouard doesn’t get enough credit because he’s so relaxed… technically unbelievable 👏🏻👏🏻

TBR’s view – How long can Celtic keep Edouard?
If Celtic are to complete 10 in a row and fend off the challenge of Rangers, it is simple. They have to keep Edouard until at least the summer of 2021.
Yes, Celtic have a returning Leigh Griffiths as back-up. But Edouard’s ability to create something out of nothing, hold up the play, score with his head, dazzle opponents with his feet – score from dead-ball situations and create as much as he scores.
Edouard is key to 10 in a row, and Celtic must keep him for at least two more seasons.
