Tony Dorigo picked out three Leeds United players for special praise after the team’s win at St James’ Park on Tuesday.
The Whites earned three points in the Premier League with a hard-fought 2-1 away victory against Newcastle United.
After losing their last two consecutive league matches, Marcelo Bielsa’s side returned to winning ways at Newcastle.
Dorigo picked out the trio of Raphinha, Rodrigo and Jack Harrison as three real bright sparks.
Brazilian attacker Raphinha opened the scoring with a trademark left-footed finish low into the net, while teammate Harrison ended up scoring the decider with a composed volley.
“The way we passed and moved. That was missing against Brighton, but here we saw a lot of it. Raphinha, Rodrigo they’re both having a great influence on the game, which was really important. And Harrison the way he took that second goal was tremendous,” Dorigo told LUTV.
Wide player Helder Costa will certainly find himself disappointed to be knocked out of the best XI, but right now he’s being kept out by two players consistently performing at a high level.
Harrison and Raphinha are the wide duo that offers Leeds so much energy, as they both work tirelessly up and down the pitch for 90 minutes, as well as providing real quality in the final third.
Meanwhile, Spanish playmaker Rodrigo was another that caught the eye in the attacking midfield position against Newcastle and is definitely someone that has the potential to show a lot more at Elland Road moving forward.
