Ex-Leeds United defender Tony Dorigo believes that Pablo Hernandez is essential to the current team at Elland Road.
The 33-year-old playmaker inspired the Whites to a 3-0 away victory at Reading on Tuesday night, which temporarily lifted them to the top of the Championship.
Hernandez stole the headlines for his two goals, which both came from strikes outside of the penalty area.
The Spanish attacking midfielder has become a key player for Marcelo Bielsa’s team, scoring 10 goals and supplying 11 assists in 30 games this season.
Dorigo has hailed the importance of Hernandez by stating that Leeds look a different side going forward when he’s absent.
“The only time we probably realise how good he is,” Dorigo told LUTV. “Is when he’s not playing.
“The only time he’s not played I must admit the last third we’ve lacked something. When he’s there we’ve got it.”

TBR’s View:
There is no doubt that Hernandez is one of the most vital players at Elland Road and is leading the promotion charge back to the Premier League.
He missed seven games earlier in the season through injury, with the Yorkshire giants winning just twice during that time.
Hernandez has the extra quality to unlock defences with his vision in the Championship and he’s weighed in with an excellent goal return.
His influence on the team has started to increase in recent games to help build some momentum and it would be no surprise to see him decide the outcome of the next match against third-placed Sheffield United at Elland Road.
