Tony Dorigo has praised Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford for his start to the 2019/20 season.

The 25-year-old has made a positive start to the campaign as the club’s main option in attack, with Kemar Roofe exiting in the summer to join Anderlecht.

He’s now scored three goals in the opening three Championship games, which has helped the Whites move to the top of the league table.

The left-footed centre-forward scored twice at the weekend in a 2-0 victory against Wigan Athletic and he was handed two comfortable close-range finishes.

Ex-Leeds defender Dorigo has been impressed by Bamford’s performances so far this campaign.

“I think Bamford now three in three. You look away from the goals, which is clearly very important, his teamwork and the way he has been playing is good as well. So overall it’s a solid start for Patrick,” he told LUTV.

TBR’s View:

Bamford should be in store for an exceptional season at Leeds if he can stay clear of injuries and can play a key role for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

The English attacker can be guilty of missing the odd chance in front of goal, but his strike record speaks for itself and he will deliver goals if he keeps playing.

He now has the pressure of promising talent Eddie Nketiah behind him and the Arsenal loanee looks like he could be a threat in the Championship.

But Bamford has possession of the starting league role and doesn’t look like giving it up anytime soon.
