Tony Dorigo has explained that he was wowed by Leeds United’s Rodrigo Moreno following his return to the side in the previous game.
The 30-year-old attacker returned to the Whites side during Monday’s 2-0 defeat to West Ham, featuring off the bench for the final half an hour.
He missed six league games with a groin problem, but was back on the pitch this week and has been rebuilding his fitness behind the scenes.
Rodrigo, who earns £58,000-a-week (Spotrac), is an attacking midfielder that usually plays behind frontman Patrick Bamford.
His debut season at Elland Road has been stop-start due to injuries, but he’s looked the part when he’s featured and showed why he’s currently a Spain international.
Dorigo has praised the Spaniard after his comeback display against West Ham:
“Rodrigo in the second half [against West Ham], I thought, wow. He found those spaces, he made things happen, he made things tick. We’ve missed that bit of creative spark,” Dorigo told LUTV.
“He’s always looking for that gap in-between the defenders and midfield… He’s full of ideas and invention.”

TBR’s View:
If Rodrigo is fit enough to start, then Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa needs to put him back into the XI for Saturday’s Premier League fixture at home to Chelsea.
He brings extra guile, creativity and experience to the team than 22-year-old understudy Tyler Roberts, who did his best trying to fill his void in the past month at Elland Road.
Leeds fans will feel that they’ve yet to really see the best of summer signing Rodrigo, and perhaps he could be a catalyst to help turnaround some disappointing results, albeit performance levels have usually been high.
