Tony Dorigo claims Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford will return to the side with a point to prove against Derby County on Wednesday night.
The Whites host the Rams at Elland Road for the second leg of their Championship play-off semi-final.
Marcelo Bielsa’s team lead 1-0 on aggregate thanks to Kemar Roofe and they will be looking to reach the final at Wembley, where Aston Villa are waiting.
Bamford is set to return from suspension for Leeds in midweek and replace injured teammate Kemar Roofe in attack.
Dorito states Bamford will be desperate to make amends following his two-game suspension.
“Bamford coming back in, I think he’s got a point to prove. You know he will be working extremely hard and he will want to score desperately,” Dorigo told LUTV.
Bamford has an impressive return of 10 goals in 24 games across all competitions this season and he would love to add to that tally in the play-offs.
The left-footed centre-forward is a major goal threat in the penalty area and can score all types of goals.
He offers a different type of style to pacey teammate Roofe and Leeds can use him as a focal point.
With a 1-0 advantage over Derby already, Leeds are in control of the tie and a goal at Elland Road for them is going to make it very difficult for their opponents to progress to the final.
