Leeds United took another step toward earning promotion to the Premier League yesterday, with a resounding victory against Stoke City at Elland Road. Mateusz Klich, Helder Costa, Liam Cooper, Pablo Hernandez, and Patrick Bamford scored a goal each to secure all three points for Leeds ahead of a weekend clash with Swansea City.
Should they win that game and Brentford lose away to Derby County, then Leeds could be one point away from being a Premier League team this weekend.

It feels like a turning point for many Leeds fans, with the niggling doubts and painful memories of last season’s capitulation starting to fade away.
Indeed, several high-profile former Leeds players and fans were more than happy with the result on social media.
Tony Dorigo was one of them. The Australian-born star, who played over 200 games at left-back for Leeds, shared his joy at being able to commentate on such an exquisite display.
Former Leeds and England stars Nigel Martyn and Stephen Warnock were also over the moon whilst Michael Bridges hailed the Whites’ return to the top of the Championship.
Leeds United fans will not celebrate until promotion is secured, but it looks increasingly likely that, on this occasion, Leeds are marching on to Premier League football.
