Pundit Tony Cascarino claims that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino won’t win any silverware unless has oversees a reshuffle of the team’s defence.
Spurs are reflecting on a difficult period during the international break that has seen them make a poor start to the season.
The North London club have just 11 points from their opening eight Premier league games and were beaten 3-0 by Brighton last weekend.
They also were humbled 7-2 at home to Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stages and it looks like a number of their players have given up.
Spurs were beaten by Liverpool in the Champions League final last season and it means that Pochettino has not win a piece of silverware during his five years in charge.
Cascarino insists that the team’s current problems lie with the backline and feels they won’t be successful unless wholesale changes are made.
“I don’t see at the moment Pochettino winning anything unless he does a complete refurb of his back four, goalkeeper and probably a couple of areas in midfield as well,” Cascarino told talkSPORT.
“They have got a lot of good players attacking wise, I just don’t think the team matches up elsewhere.”

TBR’s View:
Cascarino would like to see Pochettino force a reshuffle in the Spurs defence, but the only problem is that could take a couple of transfer windows to get that right.
There are major issues at right-back that need to be fixed and it doesn’t look like any of the options in the squad are up to the task, while rising talent Ryan Sessegnon could be a solution to bring through at left-back.
It would be wise to find a successor to Hugo Lloris in goal, while the future of centre-back duo Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld looks unclear.
Spurs could definitely do with some fresh blood in their team to lift a squad that appears to have gone stale, but Pochettino needs to know he has time to rebuild again if that is the case.
