Former Arsenal captain and club legend, Tony Adams, has said his former club must change their transfer policy if they are to be successful.
The Gunners have got into the habit of losing some of their best players in recent years. The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey, and further back, Cesc Fabregas, have all left the club for pastures new.

And that policy seems to be in place heading into this summer, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being tipped to leave the Gunners.
But Adams, who led the Gunners to Premier League glory himself, says the club needs to be more resilient if they are to catch the teams above them.
“It is a completely different club today and I think recruitment at Arsenal for a good few years has not been great,” Adams told Sky Sports.
“Now we seem to be selling our best players and you are never going to recruit a championship squad selling all your best players.”
Adams was talking in hindsight when discussing the previous policy under Arsene Wenger. Adams admitted that Wenger would move players on if it was right for the club.

But the Gunners legend is now fearful that the club could lose star players like Aubameyang for nothing.
“Quite possibly, he could walk out the door,” Adams added when quizzed on the Gabon striker’s future.

While Adams has made some bizarre points during his career, this is one most will agree on.
The Gunners are never going to catch up to the teams above them if they move their best players on. Especially, if you’re moving a player on who has scored 20 goals.
Arsenal should be competing for honours most seasons. Selling the likes of Aubameyang is not the way to ensure the club does that.
