Toni Kroos: will he stay at Bayern or make the move to Old Trafford?
Months and months of rumors have linked Bayern Munich’s midfielder Toni Kroos with a summer transfer to Manchester United. The Red Devils are now offering him £260,000 a week in hopes of luring the 24-year-old German to Manchester.
David Moyes knows it may be difficult for take the midfielder out of the German club as he is not for sale, but he hopes if he keeps pushing the deal he would consider joining. United have struggled immensely this season and as a result of that will not play in next season’s Champions League.
On Monday, Bayern strengthened their midfield with a signing of Sebastian Rode from Eintracht Frankfurt, which could be a sign that the club is preparing for a departure from Kroos.
Playing as a deep-lying midfielder in both Champions League quarterfinals against Manchester, he was the head of attack for Guardiola’s side. Moyes hopes that this could be the role Kroos can fill at United and hopefully build his team from there.
Although Kroos seemed like he was considering his options due to him not renewing his contract, the German seems to be staying at Bayern. He has been playing very well in each game, and scoring a very crucial goal yesterday against Kaiserslautern could quite possibly determine Kroos’ future stay in Munich.
With the Champions League semi finals coming up against Madrid, all eyes will be on the midfielder, as his every move will be watched.
Pep Guardiola has said his decision depends on himself, but that the Treble winners want to continue with him in Munich.
Who knows what will happen this time next year, but as of right now Toni Kroos is not going anywhere and he will stay with the European Champions in hopes of becoming the first team to successfully defend the Champions League title.
