Former Spurs and Hull City midfielder, Tom Huddlestone, believes Celtic would be wise to make a move for soon to be ex-Sheffield United manager, Chris Wilder.
Wilder is – at the time of writing – set to be confirmed as leaving the Blades today. It brings the curtain down on a remarkable near five-year spell with United for Wilder.
In that time, he’s taken the Blades from League One to the Premier League, coming within a whisker of securing European football last term.

And speaking to Sky Sports – via the Scottish Sun – today, Huddlestone believes Wilder would be ‘perfect’ for Celtic at the moment.
“The Celtic job will be available in the summer and that would be a perfect job for Chris for a couple of years. He could try and do something similar to what Brendan Rodgers has done – go up there, re-establish yourself in a different environment, a winning environment,” Huddlestone said.
“Then you’d come back to the English leagues as and when you reel a little bit more equipped, when the right opportunity does pop up.”
Celtic are looking for their next manager after parting ways with Neil Lennon. Interestingly, Lennon is a name who has already been mentioned in terms of taking the Sheffield United job.
TBR View: Celtic a huge job for Wilder but surely one he can handle
Sheffield United fans know all about Chris Wilder and are gutted to be losing their man. His work has been outstanding and his reputation is still intact despite a poor season this year.
Celtic is a whole new ball game for Wilder but it is one he could handle. He’s a big personality and if the chance of moving to Parkhead does come up, it will surely be one he can’t turn down.
