“Because Tottenham is my team and Brentford are my uncle’s team and we would… well, right now we probably wouldn’t beat Brentford, but I fancy our chances.

“2022 Champions League final – take my money, I’m going. That’s where I’ll be.”

The Spurs Twitter account duly shared the video clip of Holland making the admission, captioning it “Peter Parker, he’s one of our own!”

And some Spurs fans – plus Sergio Reguilon – were happy to claim the Hollywood A-lister as one of their own:

That said, it didn’t take long for some fans to do a bit of digging, and found old photos on Holland’s Instagram showing him in both a Chelsea shirt and an Arsenal kit.

He did once address the latter on his TikTok channel, being quoted by the Daily Star as saying: “This (being an Arsenal fan) is not true, at all.

“I played for the Arsenal vets once – and that’s not because I’m good at football, it’s because they were short of that many players.”
