Earlier in the week Rangers were linked with a move for Gillingham striker Tom Eaves. Sky Sports reports that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard wants another striker at Ibrox and the Gills star is one potential target. Preston and Blackburn Rovers are also keen on the player, whose current deal expires at the end of the season.
Rangers clearly feel Alfredo Morelos cannot be trusted as a lead striker due to his discipline issues. Kyle Lafferty has been inconsistent since his return to Ibrox. Meanwhile, Umar Sadiq has flattered to deceive on loan from Roma.
Yesterday, Eaves showed just why Rangers are keen. With his side 2-0 down to Wycombe Wanderers, he inspired a rousing fightback.

Latching onto a long ball at the far post, Eaves took the ball down with exquisite control and poked home the first of Gillingham’s goals in a 2-2 draw.
It was a brilliant touch and finish that Rangers will no doubt want at Ibrox.
It was Eaves’ 15th goal of the season in 27 games, making him one of the most potent threats in the English Football League.
With his contract expiring, Gillingham will no doubt be willing to sell at the right price. Rangers are right to be lurking with a potential Ibrox invitation.
