Norwich City star and reported Liverpool target Todd Cantwell has taken to Twitter to congratulate Reds hero Trent Alexander-Arnold, describing him as the best right-back in world football – and fans have responded.
Alexander-Arnold, 21, has not only been a crucial part of the Liverpool side but he has also been the voice and connection for supporters. Born in Liverpool, he is the local hero that supporters admire the most.
Fitting, then, that Alexander-Arnold – who has already played 127 times for Liverpool at senior level – scored in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday with a stunning free-kick. It was his third of the season.
Chelsea’s win over Manchester City saw Liverpool crowned champions for the first time in 30 years and praise has been flooding in for Liverpool’s heroes. Cantwell sent a message to Alexander-Arnold, claiming he is the best.
Cantwell himself has impressed despite Norwich sitting rock-bottom of the Premier League table – with the Independent claiming Liverpool are considering the £30million-rated (Mail) midfielder.
Liverpool supporters reacted to Cantwell’s Tweet to Alexander-Arnold and many urged the England Under-21 international to move to Anfield in the coming months – though it remains to be seen if Liverpool will spend money.
With Adam Lallana set to leave, though, Cantwell could be the ideal replacement.
