Paul Merson says he can’t see Spurs, Arsenal or any other Premier League club break into the top four this coming season.
Tottenham and Arsenal both had high hopes last summer but ended up having nightmare seasons.
The Lilywhites sneaked into the inaugural Europa Conference League, while the Gunners won’t play in Europe at all next term.

However, both clubs have already set about strengthening their ranks ahead of 2021-22.
Spurs have brought in Fabio Paratici to deal with transfers, and they’ve been linked with a multitude of great players.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have already brought in the likes of Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
However, Gunners legend Merson is adamant that the gulf between the top four and the rest of the league will widen.
Manchester City won the title, Manchester United finished second, and Liverpool and Chelsea completed the quartet.
“I think the top four are miles ahead of everyone else to be honest,” he wrote in the Daily Star.
“I can’t see Arsenal or Tottenham or Leicester or anyone else forcing their way in.
“The gap is getting bigger and I think those four teams will end up even further clear this season.
“But I do think it will be tight between the four of them and the title might not be decided by much.”
