Timo Werner may have dropped the biggest Liverpool hint yet

Reported Liverpool target, Timo Werner, has been commenting on the Reds, admitting he is ‘proud’ to be linked with a move to Anfield.

The German forward has been in sensational form this season for RB Leipzig. He’s hit 21 league goals already, plus another four in the Champions League.

That form, naturally, has got onlooking clubs casting a keen eye on proceedings.

And while Jurgen Klopp has played Werner’s comments down – he insisted it just ‘nice’ to hear praise – the nature of the comments could well hint at a potential move.

The Reds have been heavily linked with Werner in recent weeks. Differing reports seem to believe that he is Liverpool’s number one target in the summer.

But for all Klopp’s playing down of Werner and any potential transfer, it’s usually quotes like the ones Werner has given then open the door for transfers to go through.

Werner almost inviting a bid

There’s no point beating around the bush here. Timo Werner is more or less inviting Liverpool to make an offer for him with these comments.

Furthermore, Werner also elaborated further, insisting that the Reds are the ‘best team in the world’ at the moment.

Put simply, you don’t make such gestures without wanting a move. And in fairness to Werner, you can hardly blame him. Indeed, if he was going to move to any club, why not choose one of the most exciting in world football today?

Liverpool will need to keep strengthening. There’s no doubt they have an abundance of talent already but in order to keep being successful, clubs must continue to build.

That’s why adding someone like Timo Werner makes sense. Especially given the fact they rely so heavily on the likes of Salah, Mane, and Firmino.

Jurgen Klopp might not admit it but there’s definitely something in the offing when it comes to his Liverpool team and the potential addition of Werner.
