It has recently been suggested that Liverpool could be interested in German international Timo Werner once again. Bild has reported that the striker could be available for £36 million this month. With his contract expiring in 18 months, the Bundesliga side is believed to be concerned about losing him for much less. Therefore, a sale is being mooted.
Indeed, the club CEO Oliver Mintzlaff confirmed such a scenario to Kicker this week.
“Of course we have to know at the latest after the end of the season.
“A club like us cannot afford to go with Timo Werner in a final contract year.”
But whilst Liverpool are said to be keen on his signature, should Everton also be seeing if he wants a move to Merseyside.
Whilst Werner would no doubt be attracted to working with Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, reports have suggested the interest may no longer be mutual. That is despite Klopp being known to be a big fan of the German international.

Even if he did go to Liverpool, playing regular football would not be a given.
At Everton, the German would immediately become the club’s number one striker. The Toffees are still desperate for a potent finisher up front, having never truly replaced Romelu Lukaku.
Werner could be promised regular starting football at an exciting project in the Premier League. At his age and with his pedigree, £36 million is a brilliant deal for the player. Everton want to be ambitious? Here is a potential flexing of the muscles right here. If Everton are serious about challenging the best, then making moves for players such as Werner has to be considered.
