Times pundit Tony Cascarino says Newcastle should consider moves for PSG ace Gini Wijnaldum, and Juventus star Aaron Ramsey in January.
Newcastle suffered a 3-2 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday and while the club are now backed by the richest owners in world football.
They remain in 19th place in the Premier League, without a win and with just three points from eight games. Newcastle need a spark.
Some signings are needed in the January window to give the Toon a chance. Wijnaldum joined PSG on a free, where he is earning £192,000 a week (DT).
Meanwhile, Ramsey is in the final 18 months of his current deal and has been reportedly linked with a return to Premier League football.

Both are big names, at big clubs, with big contracts. But what might convince both, is that Newcastle have the potential – a project.
Cascarino says: “For now, they should target loans for players not getting a go at their clubs. Wijnaldum and Ramsey would be a good start.”
Ramsey and Wijnaldum: Duo would be perfect signings for Newcastle
The 3-2 defeat to Tottenham proved that Newcastle lack a good enough midfield to get out of trouble in the Premier League relegation scrap.
What they need is a mix of hard-working players, that also boast quality. Wijnaldum and Ramsey are perfect, especially if loan deals can be secured.
Getting both on loan would also give them the option of either signing them in the summer, or choosing not to. But on paper, they are ideal additions.
Wijnaldum played 40 times for Newcastle before joining Liverpool – scoring 11 and creating five. TuttoJuve say Juventus want £10million for Ramsey.
