Tottenham Hotspur have been in something of a goalkeeping crisis in recent weeks. With Hugo Lloris injured, Dutch international Michel Vorm stepped into the void. However, when he also suffered an injury the club called upon third-choice stopper Paulo Gazzaniga.
The Argentine has certainly filled the void with aplomb. The former Southampton keeper has put in some solid performances and highlights the importance of having decent reserves in the keeper department.
But it does beg a question about Vorm’s future.
The Dutch veteran has been at Spurs for nearly six years now, largely operating as the back-up to Lloris.

The 34-year-old has always been a decent back-up option but after recent weeks, Gazzaniga could easily argue to be ahead of the Dutchman.
Vorm, who has 15 caps for his nation, has struggled to maintain his fitness as a back-up stopper and, as recently made evident, cannot be relied upon.
Gazzaniga is younger, looking to be performing better and will be cheaper in terms of the salary being paid out.
The Dutch stopper signed a one-year extension to his deal last summer, meaning he is a free agent at the end of the season. Tottenham would not go wrong by handing Gazzaniga the number two duties and showing loyal servant Vorm the door.
