Time for Everton to give Anthony Gordon a chance and keep him happy amid Bundesliga interest

Everton have plenty of talented youngsters at the club at present and, as fans are continually told the progress of such players is key to the Moshiri, Brands and Silva project.

So, with the cups out the window and the Premier League campaign a mid-table disappointment, Everton must use this is an opportunity to give young players a chance.

One such player is Anthony Gordon.

The 17-year-old winger has been in fine form this season for the under-18s and under-23s. As reported by the Liverpool Echo this week, Everton are also fighting to stop him becoming ‘the next Jadon Sancho’ as Bundesliga sides lurk. The Daily Mail reported in December that Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are both keen on the player.

Sancho left England as he felt his first-team opportunities were better in Germany, Everton must ensure Gordon does not have the same mindset.

What better way to do so then to give the teenager a chance to shine at Goodison Park. It is not as if the other wingers at the club are doing much to keep him sidelined. Gordon would undoubtedly be a more welcome member of the first-team then the out of form and unpopular Theo Walcott.

Give Everton fans something to believe in with a wide combo of Gordon and Ademola Lookman, two players that Bundesliga clubs would kill to have in their arsenal.

If not now, then when? The timing is perfect and Everton would be right to give the teenager a chance.
