Arsenal are close to selling Granit Xhaka to AS Roma after weeks of discussions and speculation.
According to Sky Italia via Football London, the Swiss midfielder will join up with the Italian club next week. Jose Mourinho’s side will jet off to Portugal for a pre-season training camp.
Roma have been linked with Xhaka since the start of the window. Indeed, Mourinho is a big fan of the midfielder. And Mikel Arteta is now open to letting the 28-year-old leave north London.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners have already signed Xhaka’s replacement this summer in the form of Albert Sambi Lokonga.
The Gunners are also keen on signing a second central midfielder this window. Moreover, Arsenal are reportedly keen on the likes of Houssem Aouar, Ruben Neves and Renato Sanches.
Furthermore, selling Xhaka could help Arsenal accelerate deals to sign a new midfielder.
