Harry Winks is being linked with a possible transfer exit in the summer – and some Tottenham fans on Twitter are delighted with the speculation about him.

According to Sport, Winks is set to “insist” on a move away from Spurs at the end of the season and his desire is to join one of the elite clubs in Spanish football.

The 25-year-old’s current deal with Spurs doesn’t expire with them until 2024, but the midfielder looks ready to try force a move imminently.

He is an eight-time capped England international that came through the club’s academy and has produced some excellent displays at times in recent yeas, especially when he first made his senior breakthrough.

But he’s been in and out of the starting XI this campaign, with manager Jose Mourinho having plenty of midfielders to select from including the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele.

The deep-lying central midfielder has two goals in 21 appearances across all competitions and is eye-catching on the ball, but can lack a bit of bite in his game.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media have agreed that a transfer at the end of the season could make sense for all parties.

Here are some Spurs fans discussing Winks’ future amid reports:
