Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Vitor Reis from Palmeiras as they look to bring in more top talents with a bright future.
TBR Football exclusively revealed that Manchester City opened talks to sign Reis last week, and things are going in the right direction.
Palmeiras have accepted that Vitor Reis will move to Manchester City this month with an agreement being found between the clubs, sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.
Now, South American football expert Tim Vickery has told Man City fans what they can expect from Reis.

Vitor Reis likened to Marquinhos and Thiago Silva
Vickery, speaking on Sky Sports News, spoke about the negotiations involving Man City and Palmeiras, which could see Reis become the most expensive centre-back to come out of Brazil.
Vickery also claimed that the 19-year-old is similar to – and is modelling his style of play on – the likes of Marquinhos and Thiago Silva.
“Palmeiras originally wanted to keep him for the Club World Cup but they are pragmatically run and the bid kept going up,” said Vickery.
“It seems to have reached €35million (£30million), which was their asking price.
“It looks like it will go ahead in the coming days. It would make Vitor Reis the most expensive centre back to come out of Brazil.
“This is City pushing the reset button. What have they seen? They have seen three things that they really like about this player.
“You can see the influence of Marquinhos and Thiago Silva, that is the centre back he wants to be. Classy on the ball, head up and can play out the back.
“Versatile defensively, he can operate in a back three or four. Happier on the right but has played on the left.
“The other thing is leadership qualities and those are the things City have identified.”
However, Vickery did mention that Reis could do with bulking up as he “can be bullied”, and noted how he may not yet be ready to start for Man City.
“There is an interesting comparison with Murillo from Nottingham Forest,” continued Vickery. “Reis is coming on 22 games and Murillo was on 25 from Corinthians.
“Murillo is that little bit older and he is also built. No physical problems.”
“Reis needs some filling out and can be bullied. It’s hard to imagine him making an immediate impact.”
Other players Man City are close to signing this month
TBR Football understands that Man City and Eintracht Frankfurt are discussing payment terms for Omar Marmoush with a deal in total expected to cost around £50million.
The Etihad Stadium side is hopeful of wrapping up a deal by Wednesday and having the forward available to play against Ipswich Town on Sunday.
Furthermore, sources have told TBR Football that Man City agreed a £33million deal for Abdukodir Khusanov with RC Lens on Friday and are hoping to finalise the move this week.
