Chelsea have wasted a lot of money over the past 18 months.
You don’t need us to tell you that. The Blues have been utterly useless in the transfer market since Todd Boehly’s takeover.
The west London club have signed multiple big-money players, and, to be honest, you’d be hard-pressed to find a single one who has lived up to their pricetag.
The likes of Moises Caicedo, Mykhaylo Mudryk and Marc Cucurella all look like terrible purchases, but there is one signing Chelsea have made that has paid off.
Indeed, speaking on The Kelly and Wrighty Show, Tim Sherwood has named the one Chelsea player who does look to be worth his pricetag, claiming that Cole Palmer possibly does look to be worth the £40m Chelsea spent on him this summer.

Cole Palmer is worth the money
Sherwood spoke about the former Manchester City man.
“Look at those Chelsea players, do any of those look worth the money that was spent? Cole Palmer possibly. I think he’s a good player, he went for the right reasons, he’s getting the gametime now and he’s proving his worth, but I can’t say that about any of the other signings,” Sherwood said.
Bargain
We’d go one step further than Sherwood here.
Not only does Palmer look to be worth the £40m Chelsea spent on him, he actually looks like a bargain at that price.
Palmer has come into Chelsea and immediately made the team his own, and he honestly looks like one of the best players at Stamford Bridge already.
If some of his teammates are supposed to be worth over £100m, then Palmer is surely also in that bracket right now.
At just £40m, Palmer looks like a rare bargain uncovered by Chelsea after spending the past 18 months signing some truly overpriced players.
