Tim Sherwood has told BeIN Sports that the writing is on the wall for Christian Eriksen at Tottenham Hotspur, claiming that Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy are aware that there is nothing they can do over his future.
Eriksen, 27, is set to see his contract at Spurs expire next summer. He is one of three players in the final months of his deal, with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen also looking more and more likely to leave the north London club.
Former Ajax playmaker Eriksen has spoke of how he wanted to leave in the summer, with Real Madrid heavily linked. Pochettino has been using Eriksen as a bit-part player, starting just six of his 11 appearances in all competitions.
On Tuesday night, Eriksen was left on the bench while Danny Rose and Alderweireld were ousted from the squad completely as Spurs beat Red Star Belgrade 5-0. Former Spurs boss Sherwood believes Eriksen’s time is now up, and there is no going back.
“He’s such an important player and he has such a good character,” Sherwood said. “He’ll be training at his best, trying to get back into the plans. But I think Mauricio knows, Daniel Levy knows and Christian knows that his long-term future is not at the new Tottenham stadium.”

TBR’s view – Do Spurs need to buy to replace Eriksen?
On Tuesday night’s showing, no. Dele Alli is still only 23 years of age and although he has had a blip in form over the last 12 months, the England international has shown in his past two matches that he is getting back to his best.
Playing in the Eriksen role, he scored against Watford and on Tuesday he got beyond Harry Kane, creating space and orchestrating the attack. He was sensational and plaudits are coming in for the ex-MK Dons ace.
If Alli can return to his best, he can become Eriksen’s replacement.
