Tim Cahill shares 20-word reaction in response to Everton's incredible win last night

Everton legend Tim Cahill has congratulated the Toffees fanbase for their support during a difficult 2021-22 campaign.

Frank Lampard’s Blues guaranteed their Premier League safety with a game to spare in dramatic circumstances.

Everton hosted Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Thursday night, knowing a win would make them safe.

However, the Toffees endured a difficult first half as the visitors went two goals up by the interval.

Everton conceded their first in the 21st minute when Jean-Philippe Mateta headed in from Eberechi Eze’s free kick.

Palace then doubled their lead on 36 minutes through Jordan Ayew, who poked home after Abdoulaye Doucoure failed to clear.

Michael Keane got Everton back in the game on 54 minutes, firing home after Mason Holgate headed a free kick back into the box.

Then, Richarlison did enough to get a shot away in the 75th minute, finding the bottom corner of Jack Butland’s goal.

And five minutes from time, Dominic Calvert-Lewin buried Demarai Gray’s free kick to spark jubilant scenes at Goodison.

Cahill, who made over 200 appearances for Everton between 2004 and 2012, celebrated after the final whistle:

And then congratulated the club’s supporters for sticking with their club through thick and thin:

Everton have 39 points from 37 games and sit 16th in the table.

Burnley and Leeds are both four points behind the Toffees in 17th and 18th place respectively.
