Tim Cahill was delighted with Everton’s performance on Wednesday night, as they beat League One outfit Lincoln City away in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Marco Silva’s side were involved in a thrilling 4-2 victory and didn’t wrap up the win until two late goals from Alex Iwobi and Richarlison in the final 10 minutes.
Lucas Digne had early scored a stunning free-kick and Gylfi Sigurdsson netted from the penalty spot, but Lincoln opened the scoring inside the first minute through Harry Anderson and also tied the game at 2-2 with a remarkable Bruno Andrade volley.
The Merseyside club have been rewarded with a third round tie away at Sheffield Wednesday.
Ex-Everton player Cahill reacted on social media to his former team’s cup win and feels that Toffees ace Moise Kean was “unlucky”.
The 19-year-old striker was making his first start for the club after three cameo appearances from the bench in the league.
He lead the line well against Lincoln with his pace and movement, which included a great solo effort that ended up smashing off the woodwork.
“Tough game against a great Lincoln side tonight. Good for Everton to score four goals, Kean unlucky not to score, thought Cenk Tosun was good when he come on and assist for Alex Iwobi as well. Beautiful header from Richarlison. Time for a cup run,” Cahill wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:
Most people expect Kean to take the reigns over from Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the first-choice Everton striker and there were great signs in his display against Lincoln that he’s the right man for the job.
Kean could definitely do with his first goal to get up and running, but Toffees supporters can be encouraged by him as he has pace and power to fit the style of English football.
The Italian teenager should retain his spot in the XI on Sunday at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers and a first goal should be just around the corner.
