Three young players Newcastle United must keep hold of this summer

Aleksandar Mitrovic

Mitrovic came to the Premier League with a hefty price tag for a young player and had a chequered season.

The Serbian hot-head scored nine goals during his debut campaign in England and also earned two deserved red cards.

At just 21-years-old, Benitez would of course be crazy to reject him now, especially considering his impressive goal scoring exploits at Anderlecht.

However, his temper will need some controlling by the Spanish manager and if that can be done, Mitrovic can become one of the Magpies’ key players.

He will be expected to strike fear into Championship defences, whilst providing goals that can fire Newcastle straight back up.

Newcastle fans are some of the best to have on a players’ side and if he shows aggression and hunger to earn wins for the club, a very special relationship will be forged.

Whilst his aggression can be used positively for bullying defenders and bringing his teammates into play, the Serbian striker is no use if he is suspended and if he can repay the faith that Benitez has shown, the Serbian international can become a top striker and a fan favourite.
