The 20-year-old has only been granted a small number of appearances but Aarons has still been able to display flashes of brilliance in the Premier League.

A long list of injury problems has interrupted his role in the first team at Newcastle but this coming season may hold more for the winger, under Benitez.

In the Championship, Aarons will have more space to roam and showcase his skills and pace.

Having already scored in preseason, the England U21 international will certainly be focusing on playing a key role in the clubs’ push for promotion.

It is important for Benitez and Newcastle to hold onto their young players who are sure to play a big role next season and should Aarons progress further, there will be a handful or Premier League clubs vying for the youngsters’ signature.
