0.55 (to two decimal places)
That number refers to the number of goals per game that Tottenham concede. That is a mean defence if ever I have seen one. Spurs have not conceded more than one goal in a league fixture so far this year, which is an improvement on an already very capable defence last year.
This time last year it was nine goals conceded in eleven games (0.82 goals per game to two decimal places) and now it is down to 0.55. Incredible stuff considering the staple full backs Kyle Walker and Danny Rose have endured a lot of abuse from their own fans in recent years.
The critics have been proved wrong with both of these players, and with international standard centre halves in Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, Tottenham can lay claim to the best starting back four in the entire division, and maybe even European football at this moment in time.
