Defending from the front
Jurgen Klopp is famous for his pressing style, and this involves a lot of energy from the front men as they go in search of the ball. Not only does this mean that the team needs to rotate fairly often, giving chances to other players, but sometimes players with extra energy are needed to stifle teams who like to pass the ball around at the back.
This leads to the third and final formation, where Lucas Moura again features on the right of the attacking midfield three. His high energy style would be balanced on the right by that of James Milner, who is famous for his tireless work, and Adam Lallana in the middle, who was one of England’s more impressive performers at the Euros.

With Danny Ings up front adding even more energy, this line up would mean that any opposition defenders would be completely devoid of peace throughout a ninety minute game. Of course this line up will lack the creativity of Firmino and Coutinho, but it would still have enough to break teams down, whilst also ensuring that Liverpool defend from the front.
