Three ways Liverpool could line up with Lucas Moura next season

Pace, pace, pace.

When Liverpool came close to the league title in 2013/14, the main feature of the team was the incredible amounts of pace in the side. Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling terrorised defenders, pressuring them at the back, whilst running both at and in behind defenders in a terrifying attacking trident.

Only one of that trio remains, but the addition of Mane has already added some serious speed to Liverpool’s attacking midfield options, and Moura could further that still.

Klopp will rarely stray from his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation, but the personnel options he possesses means he can vary its purpose against different opponents. Against teams who play a high defensive line or like to attack high up the pitch, pace is an excellent way to hurt the opposition.

Adding Moura with the pace of Sturridge and Mane would give Liverpool a frightening threat on the counter attack, and would give Liverpool the capability to get in behind defenders and cause danger, with Roberto Firmino supporting to play the ball in behind.

It would not be a collection of players that is used often, but if Liverpool wish to exploit some slow defenders or teams vulnerable to the counter attack, this could be a fine option.
