The individuals in the squad regressed last season and that played a significant role in the side’s struggles. They went from being the best side in the Premier League to struggling in the bottom half of the table and that clearly shows there were deep motivational problems within the squad. Conte has come in and managed to get the club’s best players back on side and the results have been incredible. Diego Costa and Eden Hazard have been two of the best players in the league. If they continue to perform at this high level, Chelsea will remain contenders for the title.

Between them, they have scored 16 goals and four assists, showing how important they are to this Chelsea side. At the end of last season, there were doubts about whether the two players would stay at Stamford Bridge as there was interest in both. They both have the quality to play at the highest level and it speaks volumes about how well respected Antonio Conte is in the game. The Italian managed to keep both at the club, despite having no European football and has got them both playing at their best.
