Three ways Chelsea can account for Eden Hazard’s ankle injury ahead of the new season

Michy Batshuayi

Another one of Hazard’s international team-mates, and one who followed his career path by moving to west London via France, Batshuayi may not be the most obvious choice to replace him, but with his pace and energy he could certainly be an option out wide.

A disappoint debut campaign in the Premier League, which saw him only find his best form when given more game time as a substitute towards the end of the season, may see him sold by Chelsea, but he could be retained to provide cover up-front and could even be used out wide.

Whilst his most prolific form has come through the middle, the 23-year-old has played on the wing at Marseille previously, and with his desire to cut inside and drift between defenders, he could take the opportunity to become an effective short term replacement for Hazard if Conte is reluctant to spend to adapt.
