Tottenham player Juan Foyth enjoyed a debut to remember on loan at Villarreal and afterwards earnt praise from Spurs stars Moussa Sissoko among others on Instagram
The versatile player scored one and set up another goal during a 5-3 victory over Sivasspor. Takefusa Kubo, Carlos Bacca and a brace from Paco Alcacer securing the win.
Foyth had fallen down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho and with that in mind, was allowed to join the La Liga outfit on loan for the 2020/21 campaign.
Following his night to remember, the Argentine performer took to Instagram to speak of his pride. After doing so he received some warm messages from some of his Tottenham teammates.
Moussa Sissoko, Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso were among the players to congratulate the versatile player.
Mourinho has spoken fondly regarding Foyth since his arrival at the football club but still couldn’t find a place in his plans for the player.
The 22-year-old could still force his way into Mourinho’s thinking and all he can do now is focus on performing for his loan club.
Foyth didn’t play in Villarreal’s season opener against Valencia but certainly impressed during his Europa League outing.
The youngster played at centre-back and highlighted his desire to step into midfield and get things moving with an array of passing.
Foyth has played 32 times for Tottenham since arriving from Estudiantes in 2017.
He will hope to impress this season and then return with every intention of getting himself into Mourinho’s team.
