Three things we've learned during Tottenham's hard-fought 0-0 draw with Leverkusen
Tottenham Hotspur and Bayer Leverkusen played out a 0-0 draw in Germany yesterday evening, with Pochettino’s side starting the game excellently, but fading out as the match wore on. Despite that, Spurs managed to hang on for a solitary point. We’ve decided to delve deeper into the game and have a look at three key points that we learned throughout the ninety minutes.
Pochettino’s men are a resilient bunch
Tottenham Hotspur are always written off when talk of a title is mentioned, but tonight showed that they do have that grit and determination required to grind out a result when things get tough. All things considered, a point is a decent result away from home in the Champions League, and if they can win their two remaining home games, they’ll be looking very good for progression into the knockout rounds.
Top sides are built from the back, and when you look at that Spurs defence, there really aren’t many better in world football. They have real strength in depth as well, with the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Kyle Walker to come back into the mix.
