Three things we learnt: Stoke City 3-1 Swansea City

An American horror story?

Bob Bradley has not exactly hit the ground running in South Wales following his appointment in October and this result means that The Swans have picked up just one point from his first three games in charge.

The American will have few complaints following defeat in North Staffordshire and the score line could have been much more one-sided had the Swansea City goal not lived such a charmed life in the first half as the home side rattled the woodwork on three separate occasions.

There are signs that Bradley is beginning to implement his philosophy with the visitors controlling possession for long spells in the first half, but they lacked the creativity, innovation and goal scoring instinct in the final third to secure a result.

It is far too early to dismiss Bradley’s influence, he certainly arrives with a varied and extensive CV, but the American needs to find formula that will allow Swansea to start putting points on the board so that they can remain clear of trouble.

You would imagine that the addition of a quality central defender and a goal scorer during the January transfer window will be a priority, but a long tough season awaits with The Swans now slipping into the relegation zone.
