Three things we learnt from Tottenham’s draw with Leicester

Spurs are missing Harry Kane

Vincent Janssen scored his first Premier League goal from the penalty spot up against the Foxes just before the break, but it marks a continued streak which will concern some Spurs fans. Whilst it was his third goal this season, his second in a week, the Dutchman is yet to find the net from open play with all three of his strikes coming from 12 yards.

Son Heung Min had stepped up in the past but in a wider role he struggled to have the same impact that he has had cutting inside in previous weeks. Janssen almost inhibited him from playing in such a way, occupying the spaces where gaps were left allowing the South Korean to exploit them to find chances.

With Harry Kane out injured, Tottenham lacked the killer instinct to find a winner after Ahmed Musa’s early second half equaliser, and it is hard to see that the England international would not have given them the extra push to get them the winner in the dying moments. His teammates are doing their best to step up in his absence, but it is a tough task to replace one of the Premier League’s most prolific forwards.
