Manchester United have impressive squad depth

It was no means a reserve lineup, but Manchester United did make several changes for this match, but unlike several other Premier League sides, they named an eleven that was good enough to get the job done. The likes of Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Marouane Fellaini and Chris Smalling would all be regulars for the majority of Premier League sides and the fact that they aren’t for Manchester United highlights the quality that is available to Jose Mourinho. He also has some good young players coming through and a few of those were given a first team opportunity this afternoon.

Manchester United are slowly coming back to being one of the best sides in the country and their current squad depth emphasises that. They should be finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season based on their recent performances and that would put them back into a position from which to challenge for the league title. Jose Mourinho normally achieves success and he will be confident that he will be able to with United. There are some areas that need improvement, but they are headed in the right direction.
