Raheem Sterling is finally reaching his potential

Having deflected Kieran Tierney’s strike past his own keeper to put his side behind in the 20th minute, the Raheem Sterling of seasons past would have disappeared into an anonymous display. Not this time though, as Sterling reacted in the perfect way with a marvelous display of individual skill less than ten minutes later to draw the scores level.

Sterling now appears to have the self belief and confidence that he has previously lacked and is showing just what he can do with the ball at his feet, whilst not shunning his defensive responsibilities either.

The former Liverpool winger is also showing the clinical cutting edge which deserted him previously, both at Anfield and at the Etihad, when chance after chance fell his way and he failed to convert. Now, he has found that goalscoring touch under Guardiola and could become a key player in this exciting side.
