3) Sean Dyche’s men are better prepared than in 2014

In 2014/15, their last season in the Premier League, Burnley scored twice in one game on just seven occasions, only one of those occasions was against a top half side. To have managed that once already this season is impressive, and Andre Gray will be hoping that now he has opened his account he will be able to match Danny Ings’ ten goals last time around before he ironically headed to Anfield.

By resisting the tide of attacks headed towards their goal, the Turf Moor side showed everything they showed last weekend too. Against Swansea they were solid defensively but one mistake led to Leroy Fer’s goal and they came away with nothing. That wasn’t happening today though, and even with a two goal cushion, the Clarets stood firm against one of the most potent attacks in the Premier League.

Dyche is a manager who is happy to adapt and learn from his mistakes, and when his side bounced back to the Premier League, he made it clear that he had learnt from his mistakes of that season and was ready to put those lessons into practice. Today was the prime example to show that he has.
