With performances like that, Liverpool should be title contenders. Manchester United are the only other top-six side to have taken points off of Liverpool more than once this season, and the Reds have shown that they are superior to most of the other sides in the race for the Premier League title.

Their failure to produce such displays, up against the likes of Burnley, Hull, Bournemouth, etc. is what has cost the side dearly. The contrast between Monday night’s defeat at the King Power against Leicester and this fixture on Saturday evening made it look as though there had been eleven changes rather than just one.

Jurgen Klopp will be aware as much as anyone and will surely look to rectify that going into next season, with squad depth the most likely solution, but he may still be concerned that it is more of an attitude problem than a quality problem.
