Francesco Guidolin may not have a job much longer
With just one point and one victory over a League 1 side in the EFL Cup since a narrow victory over Burnley on the opening day, Francesco Guidolin knows that his job is hanging by a thread. Speculation has suggested that Bob Bradley or Ryan Giggs may be being lined up as the Italian seems increasingly pessimistic about his own job prospects.
For the first half of the game at the Liberty Stadium, it seemed that he may have a lifeline. Victory over Liverpool would have been an impressive and unexpected scalp which would have seen him live to fight another day, but surrendering that lead means that he may be out of a job by the time the Swans head to face Arsenal after the international break.
With a fortnight to go until the next game it seems like now would be the perfect time for a new boss to get to know his squad before a tough challenge at the Emirates, and it only works against Guidolin further despite him having a contract until 2018 after he kept the Welsh club up last season.
