Riyad Mahrez should have left Leicester

It was a difficult choice for Mahrez this summer, as he had the option to leave Leicester City. His stock was at an all-time high and there was interest from more illustrious clubs. However, he opted to sign a new contract and test himself in the Champions League with Leicester. His performances in Europe have been very good and he has played a key role in both wins, but his league form has been poor.

He couldn’t influence the match on Sunday at all and often lost the ball when trying to create something for his side. Last season, he was the best player in the league and the style of the side suited him perfectly, but something is off this year. It could be a motivational problem for Mahrez, as his performances have remained impressive in the Champions League. If he doesn’t improve, he may struggle to leave Leicester in the coming windows and regret his decision to stay during the summer.
