Jack Wilshere is thriving on the south coast

There won’t have been too many positives for Eddie Howe to take from a 3-0 defeat, but the performance of Jack Wilshere was surely one of them.

This was Wilshere’s best performance in a Bournemouth shirt, due to the quality of the players he was up against. He looked composed and confident on the ball, surging forward in his trademark fashion and always looking to play in between the lines and open up the opposition.

Unfortunately, as he may be finding, his team-mates are not as good as those at Arsenal, and often his vision is just too advanced for the other players. Wilshere is, however, thriving on the responsibility of being a key figure and enjoying playing regular football under a manager whose philosophy mirrors Arsene Wenger’s.

The decision to move to the south coast has been completely vindicated. Bournemouth supporters need to enjoy him while he is at the club, because it looks like only being a temporary stay.
