Eden Hazard needs to show more consistency to become one of the world’s best players
The Belgian was excellent last weekend against Arsenal, as he scored one of the goals of the season to consolidate Chelsea’s position in the game. However, he hasn’t shown the consistency required to be seen as one of the world’s best players. Hazard believes that he is good enough to be talked about in the same breath as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but he isn’t showing that quality on a consistent basis. His resurgence this season has been great to watch and he is certainly on the right track again. However, there is another step for Hazard to make in order to fulfil his potential.
He will argue that his overall performance was good, as he completed nine dribbles and was only dispossessed on one occasion. However, his end product wasn’t there today and the very best players would have found a moment of magic to win the points for their side. During his last six matches, he has contributed only one goal and one assist. It is an area of his game that he will be looking to improve over the coming months as his side strive to regain the Premier League title.
