Bournemouth have made giant strides this season
That nobody is bracketing Bournemouth among the relegation candidates is a huge endorsement of the work Eddie Howe has done. The Cherries finished a creditable 16th after their first season in the top-flight and have since gone from strength to strength. Currently in ninth spot with 25 points from 20 games, Howe has calmly and methodically instilled a belief among his players that they can compete with any team in the Premier League. Bournemouth have been particularly impressive at home, turning the modest Vitality Stadium into something of a fortress. Although they failed to hang on to a 3-0 lead against Arsenal, it was still a point gained, which follows on from victories over Liverpool, Everton, Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion and Hull City. The Cherries also held Tottenham Hotspur to a goalless draw. A surprise contender for a European spot, perhaps? Given how the Bournemouth story has unfolded so far, only a fool would bet against it.
